Ayrshire & Wigtownshire Campaigns

At the 2019 AGM, five campaigning targets were agreed.  They are as follows:

Update bus and rail ale trails.

The branch recognises that our current publications require to be updated.  Any assistance from local members would be greatly appreciated.

Improve quality and range of photographs on WhatPub and the branch website.

All our branch members are encouraged to take a photo of their local real ale outlets.  Both external and internal views would be welcome.  Photos can be forwarded to either the branch contact or webmaster.

Encourage more members to visit pubs and score beers.

Members are encouraged to visit their real ale pubs on a regular basis and to support them in these difficult times.  We also ask members to make greater use of WhatPub and to enter scores whenever possible.  This should be part and parcel of our social activities and scores are used to help us select candidates for entry to the Good Beer Guide.

Undertake a campaign with a local brewer in order to increase real ale outlets.

Members to identify possible outlets and together with the brewer, encourage the licensee to introduce real ale in the pub.

Encourage members to support Neil Bibby’s bill on Tied Pubs and Adjudicator.

The Bill is in its very early stages within the Scottish Parliament.  Local CAMRA members will be encouraged to continue to campaign through their MSP  to ensure its success.
